Abilities
Liega Smarža: the ability to see people’s auras. Giving the upper hand when it comes to people’s emotions and whether they are lying or telling the truth. It is often seen in seven different yet basic colors. Only when the coloration becomes mixed does it mean confusion.
Anima: The ability to see the inner self of an individual; the soul. The unconscious or true inner self of an individual, as opposed to the persona, or outer aspect of the personality.
Nigromantia: conjuration of the spirits of the dead for purposes of magically revealing the future or influencing the course of events
Valkyrie Frenzy: The result of ignoring Odin’s song. When wings start to break out of her back she is at the breaking point and once the wings have fully manifested her armor will appear and she will go on a relentless killing spree regardless of who is in her path.
***Duration: 1-2 hours.
***Side effects: Extreme exhaustion, often resulting in a change in personality.
Weaponry & Armor
Fenrir: when on the plane of mortals this sword is often seen belted at her hip in the shape of a very small but beautifully crafted dirk. When in full battle armor, the dirk turns into the sword Fenrir; so named after the beasts whose claw it was crafted out of. It is made of bone and nail from the great wolf Fenris.
Armor: The Valkyrie armor reduces damage from any foe by 50% and wards off magic by 50%; increases Stamina, Strength, Agility, Visibility, Hearing and speeds up dead cell regeneration by 75%. It is made of soft fabric that when struck is harder than a diamond; yet on the body of a Valkyrie it is the softest silk imaginable.
**Special Note: Because Deidre is not your standard Valkyrie and she is indeed still alive the armor contains a spell worked into the fabric by Odin himself which causes a Fury within her. This means it increases her bloodlust by 200% to the point where she can no longer distinguish a comrade from enemy.
**Note: Refer to image below for full depiction of sword and armor.
Valkyrie Helmet and Shield: Below is Deidre wearing the Valkyrie's official garb in Valhalla during a game of chess. The shield and helmet serve the same purpose as the armor and are usually only ever seen in a true battlefield. The helmet becoming more like a mask only ever appears during the Valkyrie Frenzy, increasing eyesight by 75%. Shield protects against magic attacks by 50% and each curved feather is a double edged blade- meaning the shield can be wielded as a weapon as well.
Weakness
Song of Odin: When Odin calls back the Valkyries they cannot resist the call of their master. Should they try they will suffer immense pain which can often cripple them for days or sets them in a frenzied fury.
Humanity: Despite being a servant of Odin, Deidre is human. Her injuries (when not in full armor) heal at a human being’s rate. She can be killed, this is however nullified when she returns to Valhalla where the oath of serving Odin restores her to the state of being she was before being slain.
Fenris: Deidre can be slain by the great wolf Fenris or any of his siblings. This will sever the contract she was forced into by Odin and is the reason she searches for Fenris.
History
Odin received the souls of the warriors killed in battle, called the Einherjar. The souls of women warriors, and those strong and beautiful women whom Odin favored, became Valkyries, who gather the souls of warriors fallen in battle (the Einherjar), as these would be needed to fight for him in the battle of Ragnarök.
Born on a cold and starless night, it was clear that Deidre would be the one to carry the family name, traditions and curse. Her abilities began to manifest themselves when she reached the age of ten. Fearing for their child’s life due to a traumatic incident the Montague family fled their hometown and started a new life. Fifteen years later a plague ravaged the city, war broke out and everything was burned to the ground. This was when Odin had found the girl at last.
The night sky hangs above, the small puff of translucent white vapor drifts in a small misshapen cloud over the tip of a nose then becomes invisible as the stars wink; they know something that the rest of the world doesn’t. There’s a bothersome hot and semi-sticky liquid soaking through the clothing, and forcing the blades of grass to bow down. There’s a ringing sound echoing throughout the world, voices mutter in the background. Somehow their content is directed at nothing in particular. Two bright emerald green eyes observe the sky; they can’t tear away from the Milky Way that resembles the path leading home.
Lightning courses through the sky, a glass shattering scream cracks the skies above and makes it fall in shards of ebony-etched-with small silver freckles that were once the stars. That is the last dream, or memory that Deidre possess. Because of her unique ability to see a Warrior’s soul in the living; she was chosen by Odin himself. Not to see to the dying on the battle fields of War; but to the living. The task assigned was that she roam the earth forever stuck at 25, moving through time, always searching and roaming endlessly to select Warrior souls and mark them so that when the day of Ragnarök came they could be called upon by the God himself, falling into the ranks of Valhalla.
Fenris was the one being she desperately sought and always seemed to lose whenever she found him. It seemed there was never enough time to cultivate Fenris’ soul and set it loose into its real body; the likes of which is imprisoned beneath the great hall of Valhalla. The search continues and time runs short for Deidre; the day of Ragnarök approaches and she is no closer to finding Fenris than the day she started this wretched life at the side of Odin. For Deidre, Fenris is her only escape even if it means her death.
